Cart Drawer Documentation

Summary

The cart drawer provides customers with easy access to their cart from any page, enhancing the shopping experience and encouraging conversions.

Tips

  • Global Settings: Some cart functionality can be controlled from Theme Settings > Cart. Be sure to review these settings.

  • Progress Bar: Use a progress bar to highlight offers like free shipping, encouraging users to spend more to unlock rewards.

  • Discounts & Subtotal: Cart discounts and subtotal will only display if products have available discounts.

  • Cart Notes: Use cart notes to collect customer feedback.

  • Cart Share: Enable the cart share feature to allow customers to easily share their cart with others.

  • Upsell Feature: Promote common products you want to sell using the upsell feature.

  • Share URL: The "Share your cart" URL can be used in direct email or SMS campaigns, as well as automation.

  • Cart Block: Use the cart block to highlight active promotions or campaigns.

Cart Theme Settings

Minimum Order Amount

Restrict your cart below a certain subtotal:

  1. Within your Theme Editor, navigate to Theme Settings > Cart.

  2. Select Minimum Order Amount.

  3. Enter the value without a currency symbol or decimal point (e.g., $100.00 would be 10000). Leave blank to allow all orders without a minimum.

Cart Drawer Settings

Block Settings

  • Announcement: A smaller banner at the top of the page. Use it to inform customers about current promotions.

  • Featured Upsell: Show featured products within your cart page. Click the Change icon to select the products you want to display.

  • Checkbox Upsell: Add a checkbox to let customers easily opt-in to upgrade their order. Select your variant ID from your Shopify admin (https://admin.shopify.com/store/).

How Checkbox Upsell Works

  1. Customers see a checkbox with your custom label in the cart (e.g., "Add 1-year limited warranty for $9.99").

  2. When customers click the checkbox, the cart drawer refreshes with the new product added.

  3. When customers uncheck the checkbox, the cart refreshes with the upsell product removed.

Progress Bar

Show a visual indication when customers receive a discount (e.g., free shipping or a percentage off).

Additional Notes

  • Regularly update promotions and upsell products to keep the cart drawer engaging.

  • Test the cart drawer across different devices to ensure a seamless user experience.
