Audio

Audio settings in Slab let merchants control whether storefront interface sounds are available. Use Theme settings > Audio to enable or disable theme audio effects, then optionally add a customer-facing audio toggle.

How to set up audio

Use this order to keep audio behavior clear:

  1. Open Theme settings > Audio.

  2. Turn Enable audio interface sounds on or off.

  3. Preview key interactions, such as checkout actions, to confirm audio behavior matches your storefront experience.

  4. Optional: add an Audio picker block where you want customers to control audio on the storefront.

  5. If you add the block, test both states (audio on and off) and confirm the preference persists when the page reloads.

When audio is enabled in theme settings, the storefront can use the customer preference saved by the Audio picker control. When audio is disabled in theme settings, storefront audio stays off.

Suggested setup defaults for most stores

  • Start with Enable audio interface sounds off if your brand prioritizes silent browsing.

  • Turn it on when you want richer interaction feedback for clicks and actions.

  • Add an Audio picker control when customers should be able to choose their own audio preference.

  • Keep audio behavior consistent across major templates after changing this setting.
