Gift cards are a great way to boost sales for holiday seasons or special promotions. Shopify gift cards can be purchased online or in-person. They work with the Paper Shopify theme and have an additonal option to let customers specifiy an email address to send the gift cards too.

How do I ensure gift cards are sent

Gift cards will be emailed to your customers only after order notifications are sent. To do this, navigate to an order on your Shopify account with a gift card. Click Fulfill items, then select Send a to the customer, then click Fulfill items

How do I see where a gift card is sent

You can find more information on where gift cards were sent by viewing your order history. To do this find an order with a gift card purchase, then scroll down to You scheduled X gift cards for fulfillment, click to expand this dropdown, from here you can click each gift card number to view further details on each gift card.

How to enable gift card recipient form

By default the gift card recipient form is disabled. This means gift cards will be sent to the email address that was used to complete the purchase. If you want to enable the gift card recipient form to let customers send gift cards to another email this can be done in your theme settings.

When enabled the recipient form is not required. A customer will still have to check I want to send this as a gift. Otherwise the gift card will be sent to the email used to complete the order.

Navigate to your product template

  1. Open up the theme editor

  2. Select the product template

Enable the recipient form

  1. Click into the Buy buttons block

  2. Scroll down and check Enable recipient form for gift card products

Click save
